Today is a good day to LoseIt!

 

I decided to jump back in to the game with the LoseIt app. Poking around at the updated interface and features and looked at the Social section saw my old buddies who used the app in the past. The only one of us listed still in the game is Will Pringle! Going at it hard core non stop from the beginning (as far as I know).

In the past I was tracking what I ate using the app, counting calories and running from time to time. So a couple years back they installed a gym here at work. They have a bunch of elliptical machines, free weights, yoga classes and these sweet rowing machines. I feel like with a lot of exercise either my whole body hurts or it takes me a long time to get my heart rate up to the point where I feel like I am doing anything. I'm telling you right now if you jump on one of these things you can go as hard or easy as you want and no matter what you do you are going to feel it. So this is going to be my go to daily exercise focus. 


I weighed in today at 215 and set a goal for myself to get down to 190 in 3 months or so. I heard a great story on NPR a couple weeks ago where this weight loss expert said that really weight loss comes down to three things: 1. reduce the amount of food you eat; 2. make good choices on what you put in your body; 3. Increase your physical activity. So there is nothing magical about any of this and that is the approach I am going to take.
